Please see the post below for how to introduce new foods to your small pet. Once your pet hasn’t had negative reactions to any ingredient, you can safely use SPD greens as food toppers, as hand-fed treats for extra bonding, mix in their hay, stuff into toys, hide in enrichment puzzles or scatter around their environment to mimic natural foraging behaviour while providing mental stimulation.
Small Pet Delights’ botanical blends can be fed daily, as a supplement to your pet’s regular diet. You can combine different SPD blends to achieve the broadest variety of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and micronutrients, for the ultimate smell, taste and texture variety your pet can experience.
For all pets other than chinchillas, decrease your pet’s daily portions of fresh greens to account for the dehydrated greens you give. Remember to offer a smaller portion of the dehydrated greens compared to fresh, as dehydrated greens are more concentrated (see the Before & After photos to see how much fresh greens shrink when they are dehydrated–you’ll get a good sense of how much fresh greens were needed to make a small handful of dehydrated greens). Some small pets may prefer that you rehydrate the greens before giving to them, as doing so can make the greens more tasty and help digestion.
