This is a legume hay that promotes weight gain, and best used for Bunnies under 6 months old, pregnant Does, or bunnies recovering from illness.  

While you can use small amounts of this as a treat hay (they go nuts over it!), it should be used sparingly for healthy adults.  For regular feeding we recommend a grass hay such as Meadow and Timothy.

For young rabbits, be sure you offer Meadow or Timothy hay as well, so when it comes time to wean them off Lucerne they will know the taste and be less likely to resist change.

My buns were a bit non-plussed for a couple of days (they never tried Lucerne hay before and are creatures of habit). I preserved and they love it now! Great value because a smallish amount goes a long way
